BERT AND WALTER WILLIAMS PIER – INTERSECTION RESTORATION & SEAWALL REPLACEMENT – CITY OF GULFPORT, FL
KM2H, based has been contracted for the hurricane recovery and infrastructure restoration project involving an intersection and seawall (Shore Blvd S) damaged by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
As a result of the storm events, the existing seawall failed, causing erosion of the roadway and boardwalk located behind the wall. KM2H was contracted to perform the full reconstruction of the seawall and associated infrastructure. The scope of work included the installation of a new 120-foot-long steel sheet pile seawall, complete with a new bulkhead and tieback system.
In addition to the seawall reconstruction, KM2H installed a new drainage outfall system consisting of three (3) 24-inch outfall pipes and one (1) 15-inch outfall pipe. Following completion of the seawall and drainage improvements, KM2H reconstructed the damaged sidewalks and restored areas of asphalt paving and brick pavers impacted by the failure.
